The Orthodox Christian Church
Explore the historic, pre-denominational Orthodox Christian Faith
New to Orthodoxy?
The Orthodox Faith is not merely a set of religious ideas or cultural practices. It is a Person. The Orthodox Christian Faith begins and ends with a Person - Jesus of Nazareth. Who is Jesus? The earliest followers of Jesus experienced this teacher firsthand. They witnessed his life, his love, his compassion, and his miraculous power. They witnessed his death and burial. And they were startled by his miraculous resurrection. They experienced participation in this supernatural life, and they passed on this living Tradition within the holy life of the Church.
The Orthodox Faith is an experience of Holy Mystery. For centuries, Orthodox Christians have walked a path that is experienced as LIFE. It is a process of becoming one with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and also one with each other. Becoming Orthodox doesn't happen merely through reading texts, but rather through humble and purifying participation in Holy Mysteries. The Orthodox Church believes that God's love embraces the whole world. Regardless of your background or beliefs, you are welcome to come, explore, and see what so many have found to be true, beautiful, and life-giving - "the Faith once and for all delivered to the saints."
